Inaccurate thing

edit

This bit needed some editing:

"Many also complained that the game is shorter than Episode I, despite the game being two-discs long."

That's really misleading & inaccurate.

Xenosaga Episode 1 used one dual-layer DVD, which holds twice as much data as a standard DVD. It was the first PS2 game to use a dual-layer DVD. However, a small number of older-model PS2's sometimes have problems reading dual-layer DVDs if the lasers have started to go bad. Because of the incompatibility issues, Episode 2 was switch to two single-layer DVDs. Two single-layer DVDs hold exactly the same amount of data was one dual-layer DVD, so the fact that Episode 2 was shipped on two discs has nothing to do with the length of the game, as each disc is half the size of Episode 1's dual-layer DVD. I've deleted the "despite the game being two-discs long" bit, because it doesn't make sense based on this information. The trivia about the switch from one dual-layer to two single-layer DVDs might fit elsewhere in one of the Xenosaga articles if anybody feels like incorporating it. Also removed the npov tag from that section since I can't find any discussion about why it's there. If you re-add it, please post something on the talk page about what you think the issues are. 209.128.158.222 07:59, 22 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Story section

edit

As is the norm for WP:FICT, I created a story section that needs to be trimmed down a bit, relaced by beautiful prose, and wikified. I'll contribute to the enhancement of this section later today. Deckiller 15:54, 22 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Cannanxeno1.jpg

edit

Image:Cannanxeno1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 18:32, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

  1. Is it reasonably well written?
"with both a human party and mechs" - this will probably be very confusing to non-gamers. It's somewhat confusing to me as I don't know what constitutes a "mech" within the game. The gameplay section doesn't expand on what one is either.
"to encage them" - I assume this should say 'engage' :)
I'd wikilink "cutscenes" in the gameplay section.
"humanity has left Earth behind the colonize the galaxy following a terrible event" - check the grammar here
"with them treating his plan as a novel as the game as its movie adaptation" - I find this sentence quite confusing, can you reword it?
"reached #2 in gaming", "dropped to #3" - see MOS:HASH
  2. Is it factually accurate and verifiable?
    A. Has an appropriate reference section:
    B. Citation to reliable sources where necessary:
    C. No original research:
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. Major aspects:
    B. Focused:
  4. Is it neutral?
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. Is it stable?
    No edit wars, etc:
  6. Does it contain images to illustrate the topic?
    A. Images are tagged with their copyright status, and valid fair use rationales are provided for non-free content:
    B. Images are provided if possible and are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions:
  7. Overall:
Pass or Fail: Another fantastic article, well done. Will pass this once minor issues are addressed. Freikorp (talk) 04:50, 2 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Freikorp: I've done my best to address the issues raised. --ProtoDrake (talk) 07:35, 2 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
Looks good. Since you refer to them in the lead now as mecha, I'd either refer to them this way in the body, or pipe 'mecha' in the lead to 'mechs', so the choice of word is consistent throughout. Anyway I'm happy for this to pass now. Freikorp (talk) 07:43, 2 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
@ProtoDrake: Also you should mention when the game was released in the lead. Freikorp (talk) 07:51, 2 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
