editHi! To start off, I would like to say that even with the small amount of information that you do have, it is organized quite well. The only thing that I will suggest is to include more information, I will be able to give a little more feedback! Deseolopez 20:03, 13 October 2015

editThis is a informative short entry for filmmaker Xue Xiaolu. I used Wikipedia in Chinese language to search Xue Xiaolu and there are more abundance information I think it would be useful for you to cite as well as getting more info on this filmmaker. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MoMoDa (talk • contribs) 23:07, 30 October 2015 (UTC)

editHello! Your article is concise and informative though it needed some restructuring of grammatically awkward phrases. I made some changes in phrasing that should make the sentences more clear to the reader and fixed some errors. Overall great information! Though your article did need some editing it does provide a good main overview of Xue Xiaolu and her career as a filmmaker. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Plantdad737 (talk • contribs) 16:45, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
Second Peer Review
editCongratulations on expanding this Wikipedia page. You have met, if not exceeded, the majority of the criteria of this assignment by composing a robust lead paragraph; including “Early Life and Education”, “Career”, “Filmography”, and “References” sections; utilizing over three references; and citing these texts throughout your writing. With this, I believe you have enhanced the existing article on Xue Xiaolu. Here are a few suggestions for further improvement. First, in review of your lead paragraph, using phrases such as “one of the top Chinese female directors”, “top grossing film”, and “won multiple awards” may be interpreted as promotional language on Wikipedia. Although this information allows the audience to appreciate Xue’s reputation and achievements, using neutral words and reserving the acknowledgement of her awards until the designated Awards section will appear unbiased. Second, prior to my edits, there was an occasion in which you created a new reference (and corresponding citation number) for a repeated source. Rather than adding the same source to your reference list multiple times, there is an option to reuse existing references when utilizing the cite function. If you continue to post and edit on Wikipedia, this will save you time and space. Finally, some of your reference numbers appear before punctuation marks (e.g. periods) while others appear after. While this does not impact the content of your article, keeping citations consistent makes it easier for editors to review in addition to making the text appear cleaner and more professional. For your information, it was suggested to me by the professor to put periods before the reference numbers. Overall, this article was well done. You provided interesting details about Xue’s personal, educational, and professional history. Additionally, the table in the article is well organized and easy to understand. I hope you enjoyed learning about this filmmaker and introducing her to a wider audience. Ejd2012 (talk) 07:37, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
