As of 1/26/07, Illinois is now the newest Y&G program operated as an independent YMCA. Ben 18:52, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Is there a better way to organize the 'Individual States list.' Presently it is just someone thought they'd add in their states program so they stuck it on the end of the section, there's no organization, bullets, or even alphabitizing going on. BTW I was one of the people who got sick in the NC confrence, VERY pissed about it and I want my money back from the convention center. FinalWish (talk) 00:27, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

This article is wrong where it says Idaho does not have a program. While Idaho uses a different name locally (Youth In Legislature), it is still considered to be part of the national organization entirely. I don't feel like doing the editing for it and my only proof is my word (2009-2010 Idaho State Youth Governor), just thought I'd say something.(talk) 07:28, 31 December 2011 (UTC)KylerRobert

Middle school students - MUN

I'm trying to detangle the information here with what I've finding so far in published sources:

In addition to programming offered to high school students, several Youth and Government programs have established similar types of programming for middle school students by running additional Youth Legislatures/MUN Conferences and State Assemblies, incorporating middle school delegates and events into existing high school programming, or in some cases doing both.

I'm finding that the MUN programs are offered to high school students - and am so far not finding mention of middle school students.

Also, is this clearly a YMCA program - or covered correctly, separately by the Model United Nations. For instance, I don't see anything in the Model United Nations article about a connection to state programs in the United States - but it could be it wasn't included for brevity.

Washington Youth and Government

@UWHuskyFan: Find the Youth Governors from the 37 other states and get clearance from all of their parents that it's OK to list minors. Then commit yourself to updating all 37 youth governors' names annually. Then try again. Oh, also list all the Youth Chief Justice and the legislative leadership as well. Being a youth governor shouldn't be an ego trip for the officeholder. In fact, the YMCA principles of servant leadership suggest that people shouldn't be personally aggrandizing themselves. it is one thing for a program to promote itself and list its youth officers, but it's another to put one person's name into a wikipedia article to the detriment of dozens of others equally situated. I'm not sure whether or not you're familiar with the program, but our state programs are rather separate, and I think asking Ms. Wensley to list every governor is certainly a possibility, especially since the vast majority are over the age of 18, and they are very close from Governor's convention, however that wouldn't really make sense since their jobs and responsibilities are very different within the program. If you would like her to list the Major Officers of Washington State that would be encouraged, but having known Annie for a long time, she is in my opinion, one of the most humble people I have ever met and to suggest she would in anyway be supporting her own self gratification, you would be mistaken. As one of the leaders of the Washington State program, I would respectfully ask you to leave the page dedicated to our organization as is. New Mexico and New Hampshire Y&G

Someone ought to add more than half a line to the New Mexico and New Hampshire portions of this article.
