The initial incarnation of Yahoo! Inc. is not defunct!

edit

The initial incarnation of Yahoo! Inc. is definitely not defunct. The company with the IRS number 77-0398689 was sold to Verizon Communications, Inc. and renamed as Altaba Inc. [1] The same company reports to SEC since 2012 [2] The incorporation date of the same company can be found in the following Form 8-K. [3] Please do your due diligence and research company histories properly before declaring a company as defunct and inventing a new one.

This article is a duplicate of Yahoo! Inc. (2017–present) as it describes the same company. There was no new company incorporated in 2017. D00kSI (talk) 15:10, 12 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Yahoo is NOT a backronym

edit

this article states that yahoo as a lower case word is a backronym for some odd phrase. Etymology websites show that it is not. Now, if the flinders of the brand created that backronym, fine, but it says they didn’t. So it looks like someone placed fake info in this article. Similar to how people think “cop” and “pimp” stand for something. 2600:4041:5CCA:2B00:AC97:5BAD:6BD9:A5A9 (talk) 01:28, 3 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
