This article needs to edited into prose instead of the list to read more like an encyclopedia.

Trinidad police bike

An anon editor recently added Trinidad to the list of FJR1300-P users but did not provide a citation. A photo at Trinidad and Tobago Police Service appears to show a Honda ST1100P and BMW R1100RT or R1200RT, but has no text to confirm. Seems like a typo

The AE/AS model has an electronically controlled clutch and gear shifting system called YCC-S. The clutch and transmissions of the AE/AS models are identical to that of the standard FJR model.

As the standard FJR does not have the patent Yamaha YCC-S auto transmission system, then these two sentences appear to contradict each other. I don't know enough to correct. Centrepull (talk) 19:58, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

Indeed, that is the USA Yamaha website. The problem was (apparently) that it could not pass the latest or impending Euro emission standard. The FJR is not listed in the current sport touring range of Yamaha EU. The last bikes sold in Europe were a special edition 'Ultimate FJR' with black/gold paintwork and gold wheels.Nimbus (Cumulus nimbus floats by) 18:39, 17 March 2023 (UTC)

Here I deleted mention of companies making police versions as unsourced. At the time, I think the whole section of content about the specifics of police mods was someone's personal experience. This edit originally included a signature in the article "Tech God 02:02, 21 January 2020 (UTC)" which I think is the name of a chat forum member. The edit summary also said "How do I know? I host the largest FJR1300 centric group on Facebook with almost 5000 members." More paragraphs were added by Axfhiuyhhkix which appear to also be drawn from their own forum-derived expertise.

They probably are somewhat of an expert, and the content was worth keeping around in the hopes that verifiable sources would turn up. But eventually the stuff that can't be independently verified (except by hanging around forums and figuring out who the big dogs are) will have to be removed if the article is going to meet basic standards.

From what I've seen, police specials are often produced by private customizers in limited runs as part of discrete contracts between one police agency and themselves, so there's often not a lot of publicity or open documentation to go on, unless an established author goes out of their way to research it and publish something on a particular police version of a model.

If Axfhiuyhhkix is still around maybe after this much time, they have other publications they could cite, besides the message boards. Axfhiuyhhkix's contacted me by email saying they're an expert, and I posted their talk page asking them to reply on the FJR talk page to engage other editors, but they went dark.
