Thoughts re: Notability
editThis article is about a young female musician in Malaysia. As such this article is subject to WP:NMUSIC and perhaps WP:NMUSICOTHER. This is a section to outline citations which satisfy those notability requirements. TheMusicExperimental (talk) 03:27, 24 October 2020 (UTC)
As an emerging artist, this subject may seem a little bit too WP:RECENT. However, national radio rotation, national television appearances, several feature articles in national news may suggest that Recentism as a positive is just as important.
Any one of the following items qualifies this subject as notable under WP:NMUSIC:
- #1 Multiple, non-trivial, reliable, independent sources
- Citations include 3 feature profiles from two different national publications, one of which included a photo spread.
- #5 Has released two or more albums on a major record label or on one of the more important indie labels
- Subject's single Lahitlah is released by Warner and her single Heart & Soul is released by important Malaysian indie label Homeworkz.
- #9 Has won first, second or third place in a major music competition.
- Subject has competed and won third-or-better in several international competitions. Not the Van Clyburn Competition or anything, but her work in this area is notable enough to be covered by three different national publications.
- #11 Has been placed in rotation nationally by a major radio or music television network.
- While I've been unable to find a national music chart for Malaysia that connects to Nielsen Soundscan or Billboard, her placement on the national radio station Hitz FM Met10 list for several weeks running would indicate that her music is receiving notable plays.
- #12 Has been a featured subject of a substantial broadcast segment across a national radio or television network.
- She has performed on a performance segment of a national television show dedicated to live performance.
I believe that the subject satisfies notability requirements on all of the above grounds. There are available citations in several different publications. Available articles include features, interviews, news stories, and media appearances. Her collaborators are themselves subjects of Wikipedia articles which further places her (and their) work in context for readers. TheMusicExperimental (talk) 04:56, 26 October 2020 (UTC)

Request for page protection
editI would like to request of page protection for Yazmin Aziz because her real name has been removed by IP user multiple times. The sources for her real name has been given, but this IP user insist to do that. Thank you in advance.–Fandi89 (talk) 13:15, 29 June 2022 (UTC)
This is unnecessary as the "real name" you mention just includes extraneous middle name material. Per WP:MIDDLE "Generally, use the most common format of a name used in reliable sources." TheMusicExperimental (talk) 02:11, 13 October 2022 (UTC)
