Removed text which might have been a copyvio
editDear User:Prez61086: Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate the work you put into starting this article. But we want Wikipedia to be an encyclopedia that anyone can duplicate and distribute. In order for that to be the case, we avoid copying and pasting in material unless we have the original writer's permission.
I haven't read the relevant U.S. laws, but based on what other people have written elsewhere on the web, it seems to me that even copying and rewording material might be a problem. So, to be safe in case that's true: read, remember the ideas you read, then write it yourself on Wikipedia in your own words.
Just now, I removed almost two entire sections of the article: the intro section and the History section. I left two sentences remaining at the beginning of the article, which I hope are not copyright-significant. The text I removed is a heavily-edited version of oldid 54032175 which in turn appears to be a direct copy of parts of two pages[1][2] of the Yeshiva's website.
I sent the below email to office yoy.org.il and CC'ed permissions-en wikimedia.org . We'll see how the yeshiva replies. I hope they'll reply positively, allowing us to revert the page back to how it was before I excised it, and to add attribution as CC-BY-SA requires.
Subject: To let Wikipedia improve our article about you by copying from your website, would you please agree to our request?
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a Wikipedia editor. We would like to copy text and images from your website (past, present and future versions) into Wikipedia and other Wikimedia Foundation projects if you would kindly allow it. This would help us to improve the Wikipedia article about YOY.
We can only use the text and photos if you'd grant permission for this under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License. This means that, anyone will have the right to share and update the material, among other things. You can read this license in full at: http://wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Text_of_Creative_Commons_Attribution-ShareAlike_3.0_Unported_License
To agree, please "Reply to All", and copy and paste the legal agreement below into your reply. Please erase the last three lines and replace them with your actual name, job title, and authority, and the actual date.

Prez61086, even though we can't use them until the yeshiva allows it, thanks again for your contributions, and we hope you will continue to contribute to Wikipedia in the future.
P.S. Prez61086, I see you haven't edited any Wikipedia article other than this one. Since you're an inactive editor, I've emailed you, instead of writing on your talk page, to tell you to come read this letter to you that you're reading now. :)
