American perspective
editDid you know what the dramatic language, especially the dramatic questions at the end of the episodes that are intended to make people read or watch the next episode, sounds like within American cultural expectations? Over here, that kind of dramatic language would be used only in comedy, to make fun of what U.S. dramatic fiction was like almost a hundred years ago, when it was first broadcast on radio. An example of how Wikipedia describes an American soap opera is at History of As the World Turns.
