Daily Mail

edit

I have reinstated uncontroversial information sourced from The Daily Mail, as it is not an unreliable source! Edwardx (talk) 12:45, 1 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

The Dutch paper you found cites the family's last name find — that was a good find — and we don't list last names for every sibling unless the last name is different, which is not the case here. The other thing that DM-cited sentence was saying was properly cited by Yolanda Foster's official site, so we don't need that second DM citation 1) per WP:OVERCITE and 2) per WP:BLPSOURCES, which says, "Material should not be added to an article when the only sourcing is tabloid journalism," which DM falls under. In any case, the last name and everything else in that paragraph are now properly cited, so all good. --Tenebrae (talk) 22:06, 2 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

POV: Chronic Lyme Disease

edit

This article confuses the fully scientifically recognised Lyme Disease with the disputed Chronic Lyme Disease. They are not interchangeable. WP:PSCI The issue also takes up quite a large portion of the page without mentioning how disputed the Chronic Lyme is. Kyrkovaktmästarn' (talk) 06:58, 19 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Chronic Lyme Disease

edit

It is the position of all reputable pathologists and of Wikipedia itself that "chronic Lyme disease" does not exist in any scientific medical sense. Hadid claiming to have a nonexistent disease, and inventing symptoms of it that even other proponents of this pseudo-diagnosis do not claim to have (e.g. "an inability to watch TV"), is a fact about Hadid that should be included with reasonable weight and appropriate citations.

The article and its talk page should not become a forum for re-litigating questions about the nonexistence of CLD which are long settled in science and on Wikipedia. There is an article at Chronic Lyme disease and any Wikipedia-wide policy on how this belief should be addressed is hashed out there.

Please take any arguments about Wikipedia's treatment of CLD to the CLD page and do not try to use this article as a proxy fight for argument on that one. All future attempt to remove the accurate description of CLD as "a disease which does not actually exist" from this page WILL be reverted. Cited, NPOV info on how much Hadid has contributed to the belief in this false diagnosis and consequent suffering of people being scammed by con artists should be added to flesh out that section. Dutch nationality

edit

Foster no longer holds Dutch citizenship under Dutch nationality law as she did not meet any exemptions to the loss of Dutch nationality. 184.148.38.90 (talk) 04:45, 18 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Restoring the chronic lyme infobox / putting all information about CLD in one section of this article

edit

Would this help explain to editors why the citations about CLD being not real should not be removed? Predestiprestidigitation (talk) 03:42, 17 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

I'm going to go ahead with this over the next few days as a proof of concept. Predestiprestidigitation (talk) 05:36, 8 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

This now done. I've made two major changes to the structure of the page:

  • All discussion of CLD has been gathered in one, labeled section. This is to reduce the likelihood that any future edits/disputes over this information spill over into the entire page.
  • I've removed the NPOV box which didn't have any timely followup on the talk page, and restored the CLD infobox to try to head off drive-by destruction of info. Predestiprestidigitation (talk) 05:43, 10 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
