Hello there! Thank you for submitting this article to Good Article Nominations. However, I will have to quick fail this per Wikipedia:Good_article_criteria immediate failures criteria #1 as it is far from reaching one of the criteria of a Good Article. Specifically, this article is far from passing criteria #2 Verifiable with no original research. I have noticed that there are many parts of this article that are unreferenced. Here is an in-depth explanation:

Parts that have no citations

edit
  • 2015 CUPE 3903 Strike: - all of this paragraph.
  • Libraries: - all of this paragraph.
  • Glendon Campus: - all of this paragraph.
  • Colleges and residences: all of the table and paragraph about Residence Life underneath it.
  • Chancellors: all bullet points about career positions and years from 1969 to present.

Parts that are missing many citations

edit
  • 2.3 Faculties: The paragraph each about the Osgoode Hall Law School and Faculty of Graduate Studies.
  • Research centres and institutes: - 1) Paragraphs about Dance, Space, and Meteorology are all uncited. 2) Most of the School of Arts paragraph is uncited. 3) Many of the bullet points don't have citations.
    • 2.3.2 Faculties: Most of the bullet points are uncited. I also suggest renaming one of these subections as boht 2.3 and 2.3.2 are named Faculties.
    • Seneca@York: Introductory sentence stating they partner with Seneca and the bullet points.
    • Other locations: The paragraph about the Schulich and Osgoode schools.
  • The Village at York University: sentence about safety and paragraph about the neighbourhood of the Village.
  • Campus media: sentences about college newspapers, radio, journal and university magazine.
  • Presidents: bullet points from 1969 to 2007 including career positions.

Parts that are missing few citations

edit

    • Fraternities and sororites: sentences about Phi Delta Phi

Overall

edit

Since this is a long list, I'll summarize the main point. There are many sections that need citations for verification. Here are the ones that need focused on the most:

  • Parts that have no citations: 2015 CUPE 3903 Strike, Libraries, Glendon Campus, Colleges and residences
  • Lots of missing citations: 2.3 Faculties, Research centres and institutes, Other locations, The Village at York University, Campus media.

There are also parts that have sentences/bullet points without sentences, but I think these can be resolved last as they're smaller issues. The only part that should be resolved first of these smaller ones is the Admissions section as it has a citation needed tag. With these 9 uncited paragraphs and 1 citation needed tag, this article is a long way from passing verification even if skipping over the uncited bullet points/smaller sentences. Therefore, I will have to quickfail this GAN as it is far from passing verificiation. I hope this does not discourage you from working on this article.
