Also a quote from the movie WHAT DREAMS MAY COME, when Chris says, "Stick around chief. You ain't seen nothing yet." Response to the charge that suicides can't be saved, referring to his wife and soulmate.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.63.17.126 (talk) 20:47, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Why doesn't this article mention that the song is essentially a rewrite of BTO's earlier song "Hey You"? Kouban (talk) 15:50, 25 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

this page needs to be rewritten for a neutral POV 150.176.103.250 (talk) 15:10, 29 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Why doesn't this article mention the source of the title (Al Jolson)? Presumably the phrase is associated with him far more than it is with this ephemeral band. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.44.211.179 (talk) 07:27, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Move to "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet"

edit

I think this page should be moved to my title, "You Ain't Seen Nothin Yet" because, the song has the apostrophe. Ledheadtilldeath 02:48, 21 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proper Title

edit

This page and all the content on it was renamed to "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet" (see Talk section above) although there appears to be a great deal of evidence to suggest that "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" is the correct title.

Examples:

Even the album cover on the page which is used as proof (which is a dubious source since it already mispelled Bachmann….) lists the title as "Nothing" on the single itself: http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?release=3660991

I think the changes to the title should be reverted to reflect the name originally used on the single and Not Fragile album. However, since there is evidence to suggest that "Nothin'" is a common variant that can continue to exist as a redirect.

Requested moves

edit
The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moves You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet (song)You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet (Bachman-Turner Overdrive song) and You Ain't Seen Nothing YetYou Ain't Seen Nothing Yet (album); redirect plain name to disambig page Anthony Appleyard (talk) 08:55, 28 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

– These pages were originally moved due to the uploaded title containing a common variation of the title. (You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet). However, multiple source list the original title of the song on the album where it first appeared and on the original single as "...Nothing". Ex. [Fragile] and AllMusic. Since "Nothin'" appears to be a valid variant, it should redirect to the song page and/or the disambiguation page. Relisted. Follow up comment: I am quite confused by the formatting below and can't work out who is saying what, but my opinion above remains unaffected. You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet can remain the dab, given that there is a single by Lisa Marie Presley songs by Small Faces, The Bobbettes, The Icicle Works we should be making the titles clearer not murkier. User:Brendanshoe This probably doesn't have much bearing on the rest of issues but please be informed that having seen this still stuck in RM, I have created an article on You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet (Lisa Marie Presley song) (first single in X years by Elvis Presley's only child gets big media coverage for all the wrong reasons probably, but still coverage is coverage). That probably means that (song) should be (Bachman–Turner Overdrive song) now. In ictu oculi (talk) 12:14, 19 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Doesn't the song have primary topic? I likewise support the second move as per its cover and may support the move of the song to the base title, but the single should keep the n'. [1] Red Slash 02:37, 15 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • I do recognize that the current uploaded cover for the song's single has the "'n", but the album on which the song first appeared ([Fragile], cover here) and Canadian single list it as "Nothing". Looking for the uploaded cover elsewhere, I could find it used only by the German single. My claim is that, although it is used as a variation of the title worthy of a redirect, it should not be the primary title for this article. Perhaps uploading another cover would help reduce the confusion? Brendanshoe (talk) 17:12, 15 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

The album and the song together are the overwhelming primary topic, and readers are very likely to be interested in both of them. This way land either on what they want or a page they're very probably interested in anyway.(an alternative is to replace You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet (disambiguation) with You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet (film) with the text "2012 French-German film". Withdraw that, on reading AjaxSmack's post below. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 12:40, 22 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per nom and subsequent comments. The title of the Canadian, US[4], British[5], and Australian[6] single releases were all "Nothing" in 1974. A rerelease in the US from 1987 was still "Nothing".[7] The album also has it as "Nothing".[8] (And it's not like BTO were shy about apostrophes; two other songs on the album do use them) The cover art in the infobox is not attributed but the US single did not have cover art and the catalog number does not match. It is probably from a German release[9] and does not reflect the release title used in most countries. "Nothing" is also used in important secondary sources such as Billboard[10], Allmusic[11], and Rolling Stone[12] (and cf. "Takin Care of Business" in the same paragraph). —  AjaxSmack  06:20, 22 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
