Talk:Young German Order

Jungdo was not a youth movement. The adolescents of the pre-war Wandervogel movement had grown into adults after WW I. The name Young German Order rather refers to a renewed ('young') völkisch Germany than to Germany's youth. Thus, Jungdo was a far-right paramilitary organisation like the Stahlhelm, Bund der Frontsoldaten or the SA, although it wasn't really attached to a party, as the other two were (the Stahlhelm being close to the German National People's Party).

The assumption that Jungdo was a youth movement is right in one aspect. It had a youth organisation of its own, the Young German Youth. The picture showing the cover of a magazine is actually a periodical of the youth organisation. 87.169.33.176 01:38, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
