Do we have evidence that Lebanese national players from that distant, pre-internet era of the early-mid 2000s (.....) receive SIGCOV in IRS 95% of the time? Is there anything pointing to a specific offline or paywalled source that might have coverage? Or do we just have assertions that they must because players in many other countries do? Meeting NSPORT, as has been pointed out numerous times, does not supersede the requirement for GNG, as laid out explicitly in the first sentence of NSPORT and in its FAQs, and in the closing statements of many recent widely-attended AfDs. This isn't restricted to athletes who only played a couple pro games. JoelleJay (talk) 04:53, 5 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Okaaay so for Ghazaryan: after removing the BLP-violating sources (forums and facebook) and tagging the likely-SPS ref (my eyes are bleeding), we're left with SIGCOV from FIFA (independent?), nidaalwatan, kooora, and elmaestrosport, which seem fine. I would say he meets GNG. However, the sources were all published after 2010, with most of them also discussing his notable coaching career as well as premier play. Is there SIGCOV of him from when he was active, or at least refs that are later but still before he started coaching in Tripoli? I assume you also checked these sites for Barakat and found nothing?
For Nazha: the sources are abdogedeon.com (which is SIGCOV but it's unclear if it's RS), RSSSF x 2 (stats-->can't use for notability), soccerfacts x 3 (stats, ""), Ossett Town profile (not independent-->can't use for notability), and national-football-teams.com (stats, ""). So GNG is definitely NOT met for Nazha based on the article's refs.
For Fakih: 1 SIGCOV profile by nidaalwatan and stats from RSSSF. GNG not demonstrated by this article's refs.
For Ayoub: SIGCOV from goal.com (interview, but provides substantial commentary in the intro by the author, so can be considered independent), what seems like SIGCOV in ahwal? (Google isn't translating so I can't tell if the site is reliable, but if it's independent and not SPS then probably is), and abdogedeon again. Probably meets GNG, but again much of the coverage is related to his coaching career, so not really applicable to my request. We want to demonstrate there is SIGCOV for >95% of all players from the early 2000s, not just the ones who went on to coach, and not just the very best players.
