This is a lie character. Please be investigated.--178.62.18.151 (talk) 16:17, 17 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

There is a reliable source for her existence, Shadows in the Desert: Ancient Persia at War By Kaveh Farrokh. If she is a lie, please explain how she is one. Asarelah (talk) 14:33, 29 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
A modern book is a reliable source for her existence? If that book uses sources, they should be mentioned in the article about Youtab. If not, how does the book's author she existed? 2A02:1388:409A:BBA:843E:75ED:295:23D3 (talk) 09:28, 22 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I can't find any references mentioning Aryobarzan having a sister. I also cannot confirm that "Youtab" means unique in Old Persian. As much as I would like to believe in the truth of this, it feels made up.

Veracity of the details mentioned in this article

Hello. I have some concerns regarding the claimed existence of this figure. Namely, she is not mentioned in any reliable sources, such as those of Iranica or Brill which were published about Ariobarzanes of Persis and other figures of the Achaemenid period. I noticed some problems with the sources used for this article:

1) Kaveh Farrox seems to have a degree in phycology, but no formal qualifications in history, or any discipline related to the topic at hand. Also would be great if the page number is provided where "Youtab" is mentioned. Off topic: His article on Wikipedia is confusing, as he is said to be born in Greece, but has a Persian name. Also, if I understood correctly from his site, his family is of Iranian descent? Anyhow, his article also needs more work and clarification on this.

2) The "Persepolis" page contains false information and is not up to Wikipedia standards.

3) I skimmed through the Persian sources and saw no mention of "Youtab", perhaps someone has a page number where she is mentioned?

Not to mention, the name "Youtab" does not seem to be in Old Persian form (possibly hellenized? or made up?). Either way, it certainly needs a proper transliteration and transcription that clarifies which form the name we are looking at is of (Old Persian, Hellenized Old Persian, New Persian form of Old Persian, etc...), before anything can be said about its meaning. At the very least, the name introduction should be as elaborative as Ariobarzanes, or Kavad II. However when the meaning of the name is discussed, it is best to introduce the name as elaborately as in the Zahhak introduction, or the nomenclature section in Anahita. The way the name "Youtab" is introduced along with its meaning, leaves absolutely no way for the reader to verify anything regarding its origin, meaning, pronunciation, etc... Another factor causing more ambiguitiy is the existence of numerous figures in Persian history by the name of Ariobarzanes, I counted at least 10 of them on wikipedia alone. Could it be possible that there was a mixup between them? I will try to do more research so that I can fix up this article (if it should stay up in the first place), and the article of Ariobarzanes also needs improvements as it has no inline citations, which I will try to add. If others (esspecially those who started these articles and may have more knowledge than they provided with the listed sources) could also help that would be great.
