Moved from "conspiracy theorist" to "author."
editMukhin is clearly a conspiracy theorist, in my view, but this is a BLP and it is more appropriate to describe him as an author, then detail his support for conspiracy theories. This is also the approach taken by other language wikis. -Darouet (talk) 16:48, 9 September 2016 (UTC)
"Conspiracy" is a Zio word. And Zios are the enemies of Mr Mukhin- Restore the previos version- — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.108.206.196 (talk) 08:23, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
- Good move - agree, except that he is also a political activist. My very best wishes (talk) 20:11, 10 September 2016 (UTC)
- Thx. Not sure which is best: author or political activist. I chose to describe him as the first only because it's more of a career. -Darouet (talk) 03:02, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose "author", support "activist". The usual disambiguation phrase used in all Wikipedia categories which include the Holocaust deniers and conspiracy theorists alike ... is "activist", not "author." Someone who believes that Moon landing was a hoax is probably not best described as just "author" – meaning, a "book" author. Poeticbent talk 05:40, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
- I've made a post [1] at WP:BLPN. I don't know how frequently the label "conspiracy theorist" is written into the title of BLPs who have wrong and/or unpopular beliefs, but as long as well-sourced information is provided to readers in the text, I can't see how pejorative labels are appropriate in a BLP title. Such a move would substantially weaken BLP protections from plenty of biographies, including not only Russian, but also other Eastern European far-right nationalists and neo-Nazis. Even Latvian, Estonian, Lithuanian, Polish, Hungarian, etc. neo-Nazis or crazies deserve some kind of protection on their wikipedia bios from pejorative title labels. -Darouet (talk) 15:06, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
- "Conspiracy theorist" is not used in Wikipedia ... "activist" is. Yury Mukhin is not a book "author". Poeticbent talk 15:23, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
- I'm oK with "activist" too. -Darouet (talk) 15:36, 12 September 2016 (UTC)

- Actually, I think that "author" would be more neutral and appropriate. My very best wishes (talk) 12:48, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
- Your running preference is noted! Please look at Category:Holocaust deniers and Category:Conspiracy theorists ... not a single disambiguation there use the word "author". Poeticbent talk 15:58, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
- Hi @My very best wishes: I think that much of this turns on his reputation and output as a writer. After looking at the Russian page (via google translate I admit) my inclination is to agree with Poeticbent that "activist" is better than author. Even on the Russian wiki, as far as I can tell, most sources refer to him as some kind of Russian neo-Nazi. I don't have a strong opinion about this but I think that "activist" is at least neutral. -Darouet (talk) 17:02, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
