Moving to his current name from the old name

edit

Hi, Please move this article to Ex. yuvaan shankar raja's current official name Muhammad Khaliq Yuvan. Wasif (talk) 14:16, 3 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, not it's not his new name. Who told you so? Indiaglitz.com? Do you think that's a credible source? After his conversion, he had a release Vanavarayan Vallavarayan in which his name has been credited as Yuvan Shankar Raja only. So, don't believe everything Indiaglitz tells, it's not true! Veera Dheera Sooran (talk) 14:57, 3 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
We cannot build WP articles with OR facts. Please add a proper source where the same old name was used in his recent release Vanavarayan Vallavarayan.Wasif (talk) 15:36, 3 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yuvan Shankar Raja's accepting Islam

edit

Hi User:Veera Dheera Sooran, I am in verge of 3RR in Yuvan Shankar Raja page and not going to revert as you do it blindly. Please answer to below questions on your reverting of my edits in that page.

  1. Yuvan Shankar Raja has converted to Islam or not? Why there is not a single mention about it?
  2. Why do you continously delete the news of his accepting Islam which i added with the sources from Times oF India and India today.? (Still i can provide 100s of sources that Yuvan accepted Islam) and after deleting the sources content, you call me vandal.!!! Please explain your deletion of the sourced fact of Yuvan's accepting Islam.
  3. Where did you find that Indiaglitz is not a source? and why did you mislead in the revert summary by deleting TOI and IndiaToday sources??( 100s of sources are available in google)
  4. What is the controversy in his name? If there is really a controversy, please add both sides of that controversy with appropriate sources and let teh readers know the actual controversy. Only that will be a WP:NPOV Instead what is the use of simply vandalizing and deleting.?
  5. See WP:5, articles need to have all the relevent information. Please avoid taking a high handed biasing to hide facts in WP article, please be open to discussion and help build a constructive WP.

Still if you choose to simply delete the sourced information i have no other choice but refer the matter to admins and proceed with whatever necessary and applicable.Wasif (talk) 15:06, 3 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

I am not denying anything, there is a mention of that in the page, look here please: Yuvan Shankar Raja#Personal life. There you have the TOI source dude! First go through the article before you make edits! Indiaglitz.com is surely not a 100% reliable source. Give me a source where Yuvan himself says "My name henceforth will be XYZ" like actress Monica (actress) said and it will be accepted. It is NOT his name, and if YOU change somebody's name, that with out any reliable sources, it is controversial! And this is not bias but the truth. And please go on and inform the admins, that will make things much easier for all of us. Veera Dheera Sooran (talk) 15:12, 3 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Lets close one by one. First, Since you are not denying his accepting Islam, please add that in the lead since the name is misleading with his current status, with the source of India today, TOI which i added there and you reverted calling vandalism.

Second, Regarding his new name, indiaglitz is sure a reliable source. But still if you are looking for a better source i will add it before i change the name. Or If you claim if there is a controversy as you left a message in my page, please add both sides of the controversy for a better Neutral article. Wasif (talk) 15:32, 3 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

In which universe is Indiaglitz reliable? Did you notice that no other source has reported anything like this? He has not changed his name, that's the fact. Did you see the Vanavarayan Vallavarayan album cover, which released AFTER his conversion, it still has his name as Yuvan Shankar Raja, that's the ultimate proof. I repeat, unless he himself states that he has changed his name to XYZ, his name is Yuvan Shankar Raja and this will remain as it is. And this is related to his personal life, so it is included under the "Personal life" section where it belongs to, as simple as that. There are no claims about his marriages in the lead either. Veera Dheera Sooran (talk) 16:04, 3 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
All news articles and television announcements still mention him as Yuvan Shankar Raja. Being in cinema industry, it will be just few hours needed for Managers to convey the name change and enforcing it in announcements, but still it hasn't been done. So, his name is still Yuvan Shankar Raja officially. - Vatsan34 (talk) 05:11, 8 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Agreed with you Vatsan34. But here (http://www.nytimes.com/movies/person/1766716/Mohammed-Khaliq-Yuvan) i have a reliable source. So adding both sides of it.Wasif (talk) 14:06, 9 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
@ Veera Dheera Sooran , hope again you Would not ask "In which universe is NewYorkTimes a reliable source"?? Wasif (talk) 14:10, 9 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
It doesn't state anything man! It is not meant for Indian cinema! It is not complete and it has wrong information. Look they have this site too: http://www.nytimes.com/movies/person/1522837/Yuvan-Shankar-Raja. No, that's not enough! I want to see Yuvan himself stating "I have changed my name. My new name is XYZ", that's the reliable source I expect. Nothing less will be accepted! But the fact is, you will not find such a source anywhere in the world. Don't you think if a popular personality like Yuvan had changed his name it would be widely reported in all leading sites and newspapers? Hard luck dude! Don't waste your time with this! Veera Dheera Sooran (talk) 22:27, 10 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
NO Mr. Veera Dheera Sooran. The NYT page which i added is pointing only to Yuvan. It is in all leading news papers. FYI, his official facebook page too is changed to his new name.
Regarding,No, that's not enough! I want to see Yuvan himself stating "I have changed my name. My new name is XYZ", that's the reliable source I expect. Alas. WP doesn't say that. If it is so, for Millions of pages in WP in the names of personalities are unsourced and will be invalid to have pages in that name without a person saying My name is XYZ.. will be against WP. Wasif (talk) 14:06, 17 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Where did you find or how do you say that its a junk? Please mention here.Till then i am not reverting. Wasif (talk) 15:04, 17 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Dude, that NYT link doesn't state or prove anything! It's not even a news article or a report! It is neither complete nor correct! It is either computer generated or works like IMDb where users can submit material, which is NOT considered reliable! But that's all you could find in the whole wide web, isn't it? I repeat, if a popular personality like Yuvan had changed his name it would be widely reported in all leading sites and newspapers. It was not mentioned in a single notable site, ergo it hasn't happened, period! Veera Dheera Sooran (talk) 15:17, 17 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, User:NeilN removed the sourced content without any citation and re-inserted some filthy words from local tamil languages like thevdiya paya, loose etc. When i pointed out, the user chose to STOP inserting those filthy words but still keeps on deleting the entire content saying some reasons. The intention of the user is evident from the user's repeated deltion of the source itself and re-inserting filthy words twice.I am not editing the page since i am in verge of WP:3RR.
@ User:NeilN, Please be clear as to which line you say is not from teh source. Instead do not keep deleting and you violate the WP:3RR and vandalise the article by removing the source. Discuss here. This forum is open for all issues. If you chode to abstain from discussion the lines would be added back with a referal note to admin page since all the lines there are well sourced.
@User:NeilN,

  1. Why did you re-insert filthy Tamil words twice? (Sock puppet)
  2. Why do you remove the source itself? (Vandalism)
  3. which line is not there, and why do you refrain from mentioning it and are keen in removing the entire para and source?Wasif (talk) 15:43, 26 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Wasif: As I am removing a made up quote from a BLP, my reverts fall under WP:3RRNO.
  1. I reverted in the words once because I had no idea what you were talking about. All I saw was you re-adding a huge unsourced quote into the lede. My second revert was followed up by the removal of the objectionable words. Do not assume everyone knows Tamil.
  2. Read WP:NOTVAND (for the third time). Your source does not contain your first attempt at a quote.
  3. Regarding your second attempt, the very first words "When my mom died" do not appear in the source. I stopped checking after that. As I said on my talk page, quote properly and accurately. --NeilN talk to me 16:06, 26 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

User:NeilN,

  1. . Ok. But next time onwards be cognizant of what you are inserting and what you are reverting.
  2. No. Does that authorize you to delete the source?
  3. Its against WP standards to exactly copy paste the same words as found in the source. It should be re written for better reading. So your utterance as the very first words "When my mom died" do not appear in the source. I stopped checking after that clearly shows that you expect a copy paste from the source. I can nevr do that. Go through the source carefully once and you will find every matter there.
  4. If you are really interested in building this article, Rephrase the sentence and add it rather than simply saying false and lame reasons to delete. Wasif (talk) 15:06, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

@Wasif:

  1. Be more cognizant of WP:SOCK and WP:NOTVAND before you try to cite sockpuppetry and vandalism.
  2. Yes, when the source doesn't back up the quote.
  3. Look at what you're writing, "Regarding his accepting Islam Yuvan said," followed by text written in the first person. This implies it is a direct quote. We do not change direct quotes.
  4. I personally don't think any of that should be in the article as there's no indication how it impacts what the subject is notable for. But if someone else wants to add it, giving it proper weight and not misquoting, then I won't argue. --NeilN talk to me 16:10, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
IMO, NeilN is right, the content is inaccurate and undue. Wasif should stick to content discussion rather than repeatedly commenting on editor conduct, if you wish report editor to ANI instead of derailing article talk page discussion. --AmritasyaPutra 12:30, 10 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
