edit- "it can be claimed that Z-code is one of the most portable computer languages ever invented" - I have trouble with this claim since Z-code isn't a language.
How about "...most widely portable platform"? Frotz 08:55, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Z-Code is a computer language by many definitions. It has operands, it has data to match the operands, a stack, memory addressing, variables. A fairly primitive language with a very specific intent, but a language nonetheless. The confusion many people encounter on this point was that it was a language without any matching hardware, which was quite unusual for the time. Frobme 17:07, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'd say that Z-code is the machine/assembly language of the Z-machine. Frotz 21:28, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Z-Code is a language for the Z-machine alone. This means it targets one environment. The fact that the Z-machine can be implemented in many languages is irrelevant - Z-code is produced for a single platform, the Z-machine. The claim about its portability should be removed, as it is patently false. Cowprophet (talk) 15:32, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
Useful?
editIs it useful enough information to state that Frotz has been developed as an app for the iPhone/iPod Touch? 209.145.77.251 (talk) 02:04, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
- The article mentions ports for palmtops and mobile phones. I don't think specific examples are needed. Ntsimp (talk) 02:32, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
- Until someone ports it to another digital audio player, it looks fine as-is. By the way, does anyone feel like adding a section for other terps? Obviously I'm biased towards Frotz, so... Frotz (talk) 04:46, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
External links modified
editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Z-machine. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive http://web.archive.org/web/20121022230927/http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/docs/interactive-fiction/infocom/tools/zt.zip to http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/docs/interactive-fiction/infocom/tools/zt.zip
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

Disambiguation of "Zoom"
editIn sub section Interpreters, I think it should be made clearer that "Zoom" in "Another popular client for macOS and other Unix-like systems is Zoom" isn't the videotelephony software of the same name.
--Mortense (talk) 08:21, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- I think that moving the reference for Zoom to right after it is mentioned should do the trick. -- Frotz(talk) 05:09, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
