Yes, there appears to be some confusion about it. I think the plan initially was to release another EP, like the self-released one. Evidently, as production progressed the project became larger. Billboard refers to it as an album here and the artist is quoted as saying "I originally thought I would do another EP and that it would be this little thing… but then everything blew up. It's different now. I feel like I owe people more."
Another issue is that because of its length it technically would not be able to chart as an EP (in for instance the UK) as it is over 25 minutes in length and contains more then 5 or 6 songs. Karst 08:41, 13 April 2014 (UTC)
