External links modified
editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Z Special Unit. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20160112084609/http://specialoperationsaustralia.com/soa/ to http://specialoperationsaustralia.com/soa/
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

Changing the word credited to Jack Wong Sue
editThe wording and credit for tjis small part should be changed from Sue to Harrisson, World within, p.342.Harrison is given credit to writing this fact by the AWM in 1984. I propose a change to the source/credit but not the facts. Cheers — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.176.57.122 (talk) 01:12, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
- Your proposal seems okay to me. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 04:54, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
Requested changes
editThis whole page is incorrect as Z Special unit raised in March 1942 was the adminsitrative holding unit for the AMF (Army) members of SRD. This page is correctly referring to Special operations Australia and also its cover name the Allied Intelligence bureau. I have tried numerous time to correct this page and Operation JAYWICK but my corrections have not been included. Check the official records in NAA and stop perpetuating myths. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 3591doug (talk • contribs)
- G'day, doug, I assume you are referring to this change: [1]. Is that correct? If so, the reason it was reverted was three fold -- firstly, it inserted text in a manner that impacted text-source integrity; the added text contradicted information that was already in the article without appropriately contrasting the varied viewpoints, and finally it essentially sort to change the title of the article without being done in an appropriate manner (i.e. a move request over the top of the Special Operations Australia redirect). I agree that the way the topics of SRD, SOA, AIB and Z Special Unit are handled on Wikipedia (and elsewhere) is confusing as the articles seem in many instances to cover common ground; however, if you want to make these changes they will need considerable effort and can't be achieved with a quick change here or there, and require discussion. These are significant changes and will require concrete proposals (backed up with references to reliable sources) on your behalf so that consensus can be achieved. If you wish to achieve this, then I would encourage you to provide a list of changes you would like performed (ideally across all the related articles so that the approach can be consistent). Ideally, I would suggest you provide a list here of the words you want inserted or removed, and a list of the references that back these changes up. As you seem to understand the sources, you are best placed to do this research (which would ideally focus mainly on secondary sources, albeit with some primary sources if necessary). If consensus is achieved for the proposed changes, then potentially a move request may also eventually be needed if the article was to be moved over the Special Operations Australia redirect. I am happy to help you through this process if you want where I can (I am away from home at the moment, so my editing times are a bit strange and will remain so for the remainder of the year).
