I think it's inaccurate or unfair to include Enes Kantor in this
editChanging his name upon citizenship is hardly an example of zeal of the convert as people understand that term.
And it is not that prior to coming to the US, Kantor was a zealous supporter of either Turkish human rights policy or any other non-US policies.
His changing his name is reasonably seen as an expression of his relief of getting out of a country he viewed as much less free.
His inclusion here should be removed.
All in all, I find the examples here terrible in demonstrating what "zeal of the convert" means. 107.3.134.101 (talk) 02:54, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
Removed Neuhaus
editThe Neuhaus source doesn't actually say Neuhaus had a stronger belief. Even if it did, it's a book review, and it's hard to justify qualifying the relative strength of someone's belief. I removed it for now, though with some massaging and better sourcing it might be able to be put back in. Because there was only one example left, I removed the Examples section and just put the instance in the stubby lede. EducatedRedneck (talk) 19:34, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
