The Beautilful Zhang He
editAlthough the video game displays Zhang He's graceful attitude, I will still give him a shot. During the battle of Guan Du, Zhang He and his officer defect to Cao Cao's side due to Yuan Shao's lack of listening. With Zhang He now in the Wei army, he displays his talent against the Shu forces with his amazing fighting and his abilities that even Zhuge Liang saw as trouble for the northern campaign. The only thing that Zhang He will receive for credit is his relentless service for the Wei kingdom.--Zhang Liao 17:06, 15 September 2005 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I can get behind a portrayal of Zhang He that includes daisy dukes and thigh-high boots with five inch heels, personally... Atypicaloracle (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 15:09, 9 November 2010 (UTC).
I agree
editYes, but its kinda wierd, because I would like the game series if they actually took old photos, and made actually be better if wei yan could finish a sentence, or they couldnt shoot stuff...now thats classic Whopper 12:39, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

- Zhang He was recorded to be 64 years old at his death in 231. Accounting for the custom that at the time in China babies were considered 1 year old at the time of birth, that would make his year of birth 168, though it is commonly said to be 167.
- His last name of Zhang and his birthplace in the Hejian region, combined with the fact that he entered the army as a teenager in a position of an officer, suggest he was educated: Since before his time of birth there was an allegedly famous "Zhang clan of Hejian" (geneology sources). There seems to be no source that specifically states that he was uneducated.

Typo?
editSima Yi then ordered Zhang He to give pursuit, despite Sima Yi's warnings of possible ambush
. . .? I think that this is supposed to be "despite Zhang He's warnings of possible ambush".
Name correction
editSomeone help me undertaking all the syntax errors seen in describing names. Because the Chinese and Japanese (All South-East Asian names) use the Clan name first, and the Given name second, we now have mistakes like calling Zhang He "Zhang" instead of his proper name, "He", and Ma Su "Ma", instead of his proper name "Su". This is a huge mistake, and needs to be fixed. 74.12.8.44 16:29, 3 May 2007 (UTC) Joe Caron
- In formal texts, we refer to individuals by their last name when there are no ambiguities. --Plastictv 23:16, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- First names should only be used in sentences describing a group of individuals who share a single clan name (Sun Ce, Sun Quan, etc). They should also be used to identify individuals in decriptions featuring similar names (Wei Yan, Kingdom of Wei, etc.) to avoid confusion. Other than this, clan names are traditionally those used. - Actually it's much up to a historian's preference, in a formal text I personally use the full name. But in en.wiki, we should use an individual's last name, guideline can be found in project's page.----EkmanLi (talk) 23:38, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- It seems the guideline was changed, so using the full name may not be a bad idea.--EkmanLi (talk) 17:12, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
