Tongyong Pinyin
editTaipei City does not use Tongyong Pinyin. Tongyong is a non-standard, non-recognized spelling system created for purely political reasons by the DPP, and does not belong in jurisdictions (like Taipei City) where it is not used. Tongyong is the political baby of the DPP, and is not supported by the KMT or recognized by the ISO, the UN, the US, mainland China, or anywhere in the world outside of DPP-controlled regions of Taiwan. It should be avoided whenever possible. Bubbha 08:29, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Your personal political comments, while respected, has no place here and should not be used as reasons for the removal of useful information. --Cynehelm 09:45, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- Likewise, your personal political opinion should be not be used as a reason to include useless information, such as the Tongyong Pinyin spellings of Taipei placenames, which was rejected by the Taipei City Council and is not used within Taipei City jurisdiction. Bubbha 10:48, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
