Zibo is the third largest city in Shandong? I'm sure that can't be correct. Yantai is definitely larger than Zibo, and Weifang could be as well. By the way, who is Isaac Shi?

Why Zibo is the 3rd largest city in Shandong

edit

1.It is true that by population, many cities in Shandong exceeded Zibo. But since Zibo holds one of the most important historical, industrial, and commercial seat in Shandong, (even to the North China as a whole) it is always being viewed as the 3rd most important city after Qingdao and Jinan in Shandong Province.

2.The other thing why Zibo is the 3rd largest city in Shandong is because its constructed area in squre kilometers exceeded most of the cities in Shandong (ie. more than 60 kilometer square bigger than 4th largest Yantai), only after Qingdao and Jinan (both only exceeded Zibo by a small fraction in this case).

3.Zibo also has the most skyscrapers in Shandong only after Qingdao and Jinan too (around 500~800 contructed or in construction, by comparison, the city with the 4th most skyscrapers only has around 100~200).

4. where are the sources for this page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fitzgerw (talkcontribs) 18:04, 8 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

In terms of population this is true, ZiBo is third behind QingDao and JiNan. The population of ZiBo is around 4.5 million. In 2004-2005, their economy grew by 17 percent, so you can expect some population growth as well.

ZiBo is difficult to describe because it really is a metropolitan area. City officials compare their city structure to Los Angeles where you have cities like Santa Monica and Ingleside included in the city we call Los Angeles.

The city of ZiBo is really Zhang Dian. So when you talk about the population of ZiBo, do you mean ZiBo City which includes 8 districts and counties? Or do you mean Zhang Dian which really is the urban center of ZiBo?

GDP Per Capita

GDP Per Capita of Zibo for 2008: GDP total : Population total = ¥231,700,000,000 : 4,149,900 = ¥55,832.67 Renminbi, not ¥51,426 Newone (talk) 05:37, 25 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
