"The Attack" section is a bit muddled and confusing - I am going to attempt to expand it enough to clarify which incidents happened when.Eliray11 (talk) 07:42, 11 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Copyvio

edit

Yesterday Adamantane (talk · contribs) inserted large portions of text copied from here:

According to Christian Persecution Blog some of these torture allegations are untrue. Ahmet Guvener, pastor of Diyarbakir Church in Diyarbakir, Turkey, writes on 30 April 2007:
... (removed portion) ...
''<ref name=persecutionblog>Christian Persecution Blog: [http://www.persecutionblog.com/2007/05/some_torture_al.html Some Torture Allegations Untrue About Martyred Christians in Turkey], May 5, 2007</ref>''

I've removed this as a copyvio. The original text on that blog was posted by a "Stacy L. Harp" and allegedly represents a letter from "30 April 2007" by "Ahmet Guvener, pastor of Diyarbakir Church".
As an official report of the event is still lacking, this alleged "eye-witness report" is of interest, of course. But we have to take into account that this report was posted in a blog and there is no way to verify its contents. -- Túrelio 07:59, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I made a Google search, I think Ahmet Güvener really is the pastor of Diyarbakır Church. Also Stacy L. Harp is apparently the main contributor to that blog, and checking her other contributions on the main page, I don't think she has a particularly pro-Turkish bias. But it's a blog and the letter is a primary source, so we cannot include it per Wikipedia policies, WP:RS etc. I personally believe in the truth of content of that letter, and it does contradict ICC's report (which also mentions of some 'brothers' being there around noon, one of which might be Ahmet Güvener) DenizTC 15:07, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
So we may leave the URL of that letter here on the talk page, but should wait for a secondary source before including it into the article. And thanks to Deniz for the background-check of the blog/contributor. -- Túrelio 17:02, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Satanic...

edit

What was described as "satanic" appears as "heavy" in the Wikipedia article. It has to be asked: Is ICC a reliable information source? If it is, why no word of the ICC report in this article? If it is not, why the reference? --85.179.63.229 (talk) 07:44, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

move without prior discussion

edit

I object to the move of this article from Bible publishing firm murders in Malatya, Turkey to Zirve Publishing House massacre by User:Oğuzhan. As far as I can see, there was no prior discussion about this move. This move might be interpreted as an attempt to white-wash Malatya by removing it from the lemma. --Túrelio (talk) 20:50, 25 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
