Please add birthdate of March 28th, 1990 as confirmed on her blog in several locations (example: http://www.zoella.co.uk/2011/03/my-21st-birthday.html) 173.230.166.149 (talk) 17:14, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
- It's a self-published source, but I feel like a birthdate will typically trace back to that. I'm okay with adding it; are there any objections to including it? —C.Fred (talk) 17:36, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
- sounds fair enough Cannolis (talk) 20:19, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
- Per WP:DOB: "Wikipedia includes full names and dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources, or by sources linked to the subject such that it may reasonably be inferred that the subject does not object." - the dob has not been mentioned by any reliable sources but I'd say that the second part is true in this instance. Are there any mentions by Zoe which contradict the 28th date? Nikthestunned 08:14, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

Consider adding that she was Mind's first digital ambassador in October 2014. With Mind's support, she launched the initiative "#DontPanicButton," which raises awareness for young people who suffer from anxiety and panic attacks by encouraging people to wear red buttons, traditionally a sign of panic, as a sign of solidarity and positivity. (She announces her partnership in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRW9XBiGPdw&list=UUrUbqTCagwsaP2Fmr0p1TsA) (Mind's press release can be found here: http://www.mind.org.uk/news-campaigns/news/zoella-becomes-first-digital-ambassador-for-mind/#.VGV7JJPF800) Krobin31 (talk) 04:22, 14 November 2014 (UTC)krobin31
- Has this gotten coverage in reliable secondary sources—things other than her vlog and the organization's press release? I think we need secondary sources to show the significance of the program (as well as the significance of Mind) before this is included. —C.Fred (talk) 16:30, 17 November 2014 (UTC)

Partner?
From the documentation for {{Infobox person}} about partners: "If particularly relevant, or if the partner is notable; 'partner' here means unmarried life partners (of any gender or sexual preference), not business partner." Sugg and Deyes have been dating, but has the relationship reached the depth and duration to call them partners—and more to the point, do any secondary sources refer to them as such? —C.Fred (talk) 14:40, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
- No, sources universally refer to them as "boyfriend" / "girlfriend" (or synonyms thereof) - which allows for minor inclusion in the article (given the coverage) but not the infobox (which I think basically constitutes legal partners, whether officially ratified or not). Nikthestunned 15:15, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
After watching many of their YouTube video's I think they are more business partners than boyfriend and girlfriend. They met at a YouTube convention you very rarely see Alfie and Zoe hold hands with each other, They never kiss each other. It's possible they don't sleep in the same bed together. They have separate bathrooms. The only people who attend their parties or have sleep overs at their house are other YouTube Vloggers that also belong to their management company. when one of them is traveling around the UK promoting their book the other one stay's home. Alfie makes video's with other women without Zoe and Zoe makes video's with other men without Alfie. And when Alfie is overseas Zoe has men staying in one of the spare bedrooms which would make an average boyfriend very upset.Mirrabooka (talk) 16:13, 29 April 2016 (UTC)

Zoella → Zoe Sugg – I moved the page to this name accidentally after attempting to revert a previous move to 'Zoë Sugg', which is not, and has never been, her name. I'm pretty sure we should be using her full and real name as that seems to be widely available and often used in news articles etc. Nikthestunned 17:02, 10 May 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose It seems like the press (Sun, Hindustan Times, Metro, Cosmo, Daily Mail) often refer to her primarily as Zoella. The Guardian referred to her primarily as Zoe Sugg and Forbes: Zoe "Zoella" Sugg, but most prefer Zoella. —A L T E R C A R I ✍ 07:50, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose - She is best known as Zoella, so I don't see a need to move the page. I say this as creator of the Susanna Lau article, which I every now and again think "maybe I should have done the main article under Susie Bubble." I've definitely heard of Zoella, but Zoe Sugg just made me go, "who?" I don't see a need to move the page to her "real name" as this seems a bit like identity erasure - Zoella is her public persona, the name under which she creates, which makes it seem a bit like saying "right, Stefani Germanotta, we're calling you by your real name from now on." Umlaut
So recently, I made an edit adding an "ë" to the spelling of Sugg's birth name. This edit was reverted by @Nikthestunned:, asking me to "not add random umlauts to her name". However, as seen by her Twitter, this is just how she spells her name. Also, they added United Kingdom back into the Infobox, although I believe that I read a policy where the constituent country is supposed to be listed rather than the UK, similarly to how one is supposed to be listed as "English, Scottish, Welsh, etc" rather than "British" unless they publicly identify themselves as the latter. However, I am unable to find a policy that says so, so if somebody has knowledge on that topic please let me know. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 13:51, 5 July 2017 (UTC)
- Hi there. A twitter screen-name is in no way an indicator of how someone spells their name! It's just a 'cool' affectation... Or should we also change Lady Gagas name to Xoxo Gaga etc!? It doesn't mean anything and should not be used in her article at all. The other part I've just reinstated, I shouldn't have reverted both, my apologies. Nikthestunned 15:10, 5 July 2017 (UTC)

The name shall be Zoë Sugg, not Zoella, her name is Zoë not Zoella. KristofferNaley1 (talk) 22:26, 27 August 2017 (UTC)
- Not done The subject is referred to by her WP:COMMONNAME, Zoella, the name by which she chooses to be commonly known, and by her legal name Zoe Elizabeth Sugg. There is no evidence that she uses the diacritic above the "e" in Zoe, and there is evidence to the contrary, e.g., [1]. See other notices on this Talk page. Title of article?
An editor changed the infobox name today from "Zoella" to "Zoe Sugg"; I reverted to comply with the title of the article. However, the current state of the article is not inconsistent with the editorial choices we've made in the article: all the subsequent references to the subject are to "Sugg", not "Zoella"; we seem to use the latter as references to her YouTube channel or brand.
In light of this, should the article stay at its current title of "Zoella"? Or, since the article is primarily about the person and the brand is secondary, should it be moved to "Zoe Sugg"? It would help to see how recent sources refer to her to determine how to apply WP:COMMONNAME. —C.Fred (talk) 15:36, 8 December 2018 (UTC)
I should've pinged Joesimnett when I left this message. Doing so now. —C.Fred (talk) 16:00, 8 December 2018 (UTC)
- C.Fred I believe that the article name should be changed from Zoella to Zoe Sugg. Sugg has stated on social media and in videos that she’s going by her birth name now, and as the articke is about her as a person, rather than her brand, it should be altered. —Joesimnett (talk) 17:02, 8 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Joesimnett: How are independent reliable sources referring to her now? —C.Fred (talk) 17:40, 8 December 2018 (UTC)
- @C.Fred: Sources such as iNews, Independant, Ok, etc are beginning to use Zoe Sugg. Many others use Zoella in headlines, perhaps to draw attention, as it’s a well known pseudonym, but use Zoe Sugg within the article. —Joesimnett (talk) 21:42, 8 December 2018 (UTC)

Zoella → Zoe Sugg – Sugg now goes by her birth name, Zoe Sugg. She has publicly stated that she no longer uses the Zoella channel, and has adopted the use of her Zoe Sugg YouTube channel more. She has also changed her social media usernames to ZoeSugg. Independent sources such as Metro, Hello!, Stylist and Shemazing refer to her as Zoe Sugg, rather than Zoella. - Support, topic consistency. I took a look at how the article is currently written, and we refer to her as "Sugg" throughout the article. Further, looking at the intro, "Zoe Sugg" is the person, and "Zoella" is a brand and (former) YouTube identity. Based on that, since the article is about Zoe Sugg the person, we should style the article title "Zoe Sugg". Obviously, "Zoella" would be retained as a redirect. —C.Fred (talk) 20:46, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
