The mentioned etymology is false. In the local Kurdish it's "Ziréwar" or "Zirébar" which exactly means "Lake": "ziré" ~ "sea" (< Avestan "ziraya", NPersian "daryaa") and "-bar"/"-war" a suffix (< from Old Iranian "-bhara", NPersian "-vaar"). --Kak Language (talk) 21:43, 3 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
