Early life

edit

Grigg was born Taylor Rousseau on September 9, 1999,[3] to parents Lauri and Bill Rousseau. She had two sisters, Bailey and Trinity.[4] She attended Tulia High School.[5]

Career

edit

Around 2018,[6] Rousseau Grigg created a TikTok page with no intention of gaining widespread attention. "I just downloaded TikTok because it was the trend and everybody was doing it. I just wanted to see what it was about. It just kind of happened!" she recalled in 2021.[7] Though at first she deleted her account, she made a new one around 2019 and quickly became famous.[8] At the time of her death in 2024, she boasted an approximate 1.4 million TikTok followers.[2]

Renowned for her creative Western clothing style, Rousseau Grigg encouraged people to dress how they liked and not let peer pressure stop them from wearing what they wanted, a belief that was influenced by her years at school.[7][8] In 2019, she founded the Geaux Sauvage clothing boutique.[5][8] Along with her boyfriend and later husband, Cameron Grigg, Rousseau Grigg ran the ThePartyCrasher.co, a mobile bar service,[7][9] as well as the TAC House, a Western content house for TikTok influencers to live together and collaborate on social media, located in Sherman, Texas.[10][11]

Personal life

edit

After meeting on Instagram, Rousseau Grigg started dating Cameron Grigg in 2021. They got engaged in June 2022 and married on August 23, 2023.[3][12] Rousseau Grigg lived in Amarillo, Texas.[4][10]

Death

edit

On October 5, 2024, Cameron Grigg announced the unexpected death of Rousseau Grigg,[13] who passed away the day before at age 25 due to complications from a severe asthma attack and Addison's disease.[1] This condition, caused by adrenal gland deficiency, was a challenge Rousseau Grigg had discussed in her videos, where she shared the struggles of living with an illness that left her feeling extremely weak.[14] Prior to her death, she had undergone surgery. Grigg said that her body was being operated by machines to keep her organs suitable to donate.[4] After her death, a friend of the family set up a GoFundMe page, as paying Rousseau Grigg's medical bills had been a financial strain.[13]
