AlbertaMLAbio – Legislative Assembly of Alberta Member Profile
Template documentation
Usage
Without parameter
{{AlbertaMLAbio}}
The page will be added to Category:Alberta MLA biography template with no id set. I would like to add Wikidata functionality one day like the OntarioMPPbio, but I am not sure how.
With parameter
{{AlbertaMLAbio|ID=####|2=NAME}}
The ID code is part of the URL for the MLA's biography. To look it up:
- Go to https://www.assembly.ab.ca/members/members-of-the-legislative-assembly
- Search the names, code or constituency to find the correct code.
- Find the MLA's name in the resulting listing, and extract the part of the URL after
ID=
- (it will be a four digit number)
- Example:
{{AlbertaMLAbio|ID=0791}}
for Rachel Notley - Result: Rachel Notley – Legislative Assembly of Alberta Member Profile
- Example:
- Example2:
{{AlbertaMLAbio|ID=0295}}
for Donald McKinnon (Canadian politician) - Result2: Donald McKinnon (Canadian politician) – Legislative Assembly of Alberta Member Profile
- Example2:
- Example2:
{{AlbertaMLAbio|ID=0295|2=Donald McKinnon}}
for Donald McKinnon (Canadian politician) - Result2: Donald McKinnon – Legislative Assembly of Alberta Member Profile
- Use the NAME field (2=) when the Wikipedia page has a disambiguation such as (Canadian politician).
- Example2:
Notes
- Based on Template:Ontario MPP biography, I just changed the webpage to apply to Alberta.
- In the future I would like to know how to integrate the MLA code to Wikidata in a similar way to the Ontario MPP biography. But I just don't know how Wikidata works.
