Usage
edit{{Century in country category|centuryyear|centuryname|previous century|next century|[ millennium ]|country|[ sort key ]|[ continent ] [|region1 ] [|region2 ] [|region3 ] [|region4 ] [}}
- where
- centuryyear is the two-digit century, like 18 for 1801 to 1900, 19 for 1901–2000, 20 for 2001–2100 etc.
- centuryname is the equivalent name of that century, such as 19th for the period 1801–1900, 20th for 1901–2000, 21st for 2001–2100 etc.
- Examples
{{Century in country category|19|20th|19th|21st|2nd|the United Kingdom|United Kingdom|Europe}} – for Category:20th century in the United Kingdom
{{Century in country category|0|1st|1st BC|2nd|1st|China||Asia}} – for Category:1st century in China
{{Century in country category|4|5th|4th|6th|1st|the Roman Empire|Roman Empire|decades=yes}} – for Category:5th century in the Roman Empire
The 5th parameter is optional. If it is omitted, the millennium category will not be populated; e.g. {{Century in country category|15|16th|15th|17th||Aragon||Europe}} will not put the century category into a parent Category:2nd millennium in Aragon. Consensus at WP:CFD discussions points to not having millennium categories for territories that only existed during one millennium.
Optional parameters
edit- the 9th to 12th parameters can be used to add parent categories for a second continent or regions, empires etc.
|newname=NEWNAME
can also be used to override the country name in the parent category "Nth millennium in 'X'". This is useful where a country has changed its name, and the parent category by millennium uses the new name.|decades=yes
– shows a line of links to decades|no-table=yes
– omits the table of links to decades and years
