Template for citations to Eminent Chinese of the Ch'ing Period (1943), a U.S. government book of biographies of notable people from China's Qing dynasty. All biographies are available on Wikisource at s:Eminent Chinese of the Ch'ing Period (ECCP).

Usage

edit

The template is a wrapper for {{cite encyclopedia}}, with the following parameters supported. All parameter names must be in lowercase. The template also creates an interwiki link to the corresponding biography on Wikisource.

Non-standard parameters:

  • |wstitle=biography name — The title of the corresponding Wikisource page, only needed if it's not the same as title
  • |short=x — this is a boolean parameter, so if it is set to any value, will abbreviate the book title to ECCP and will omit the publisher (United States Government Printing Office). It is useful for an entry in the External links section. Leave blank or omit to not abbreviate
  • |no-links=y — this is a boolean parameter, so if it is set to any value, it will remove the wikilinks to the editor, the ECCP book and the United States Government Printing Office. This is useful to prevent over linking if more than one instance of link to this book is used in one Wikipedia article. Leave blank or omit to include the links.

Standard parameters set by this template:

  • |title= — it links to the EECP article on Wikisource unless wstitle is set to an alternative name. If |url= is set then the title links to the URL
  • |editor-last=Hummel
  • |ditor-first=Arthur W. Sr.
  • |editor-link=Arthur W. Hummel Sr. — unless link is set in which case the link is removed
  • |date=1943

Standard parameters needed by this template:

  • |title=biography name — The title of the biography

Standard parameters not needed by this template:

  • |url= – is deprecated as all of the text is now available on Wikisource.

For all other possible parameters see the documentation at {{cite encyclopedia}} and Help:Citation Style 1
