QSA is an abbreviation for Queensland State Archives.
Usage
editThe Queensland State Archives organises its records into a hierarchy:
- Items are individual documents
- Series are sets of similar items
- Agencies are the organisations that create the series
while Images are digitisations (usually of Items).
This template creates a {{cite web}} citation to individual Image records in the online catalogue of Queensland State Archives, a useful searchable reference source on Queensland Government agencies. It covers local government authorities, schools, prisons, hospitals, cemeteries, etc.
This template should not be used for Agency, Series nor Items in the QSA catalogue. Instead use Template:Cite QSA Agency or Template:Cite QSA Series or Template:Cite QSA Item.
Parameters
edit- There are three unnamed parameters
- Image ID number. Mandatory. It can be found in the Digital Image ID field in the entry or at the end of the URL.
- Caption. Mandatory. It can be found in the Caption field in the entry.
- Access date. Optional but recommended. Usually today's date or whenever you looked at the entry.
For example, the entry for the [1] (a Proclamation of war against Germany) can be referenced using:
{{Cite QSA Image|24337|Proclamation of state of war between His Majesty and the German Emperor, 20 August 1914|3 February 2016}}
resulting in:
"Image ID24337, Proclamation of state of war between His Majesty and the German Emperor, 20 August 1914". Queensland State Archives. Retrieved 3 February 2016.
Or without an accessdate
{{Cite QSA Image|24337|Proclamation of state of war between His Majesty and the German Emperor, 20 August 1914}}
resulting in:
"Image ID24337, Proclamation of state of war between His Majesty and the German Emperor, 20 August 1914". Queensland State Archives.
- Error checking is not done at all. Specifying an incorrect ID will result in a link to a non-existing record.
