Template:Deletionlist/doc

This template is transcluded into various subpages of WikiProject Deletion sorting and is used to provide introductory information on the sorted deletion list.

Usage

Parameters

1. The first parameter is the name of the topic. This must be supplied.

TemplateData

Template parameters

Parameter		Description	Type	Status
Topic	1	The topic that the deletion sorting list is about. Usually capitalized. Example Australia	String	required
Parent topic	2	A larger topic with a corresponding deletion list, if applicable. If set, this parameter will create a template message beginning with "This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to..." Example Science	String	optional
Shortcut	shortcut	If set, it will produce a small message box naming one shortcut (and one only) to this deletion sorting list. Example WP:WPDS	Page name	optional
Subtopic	sub	Any subtopics of this topic that have deletion lists, if applicable. If set, this parameter creates a template message starting with "This list also includes a sublist or sublists of deletions related to..." Example Cryptocurrency	String	optional
Link to note about topic	note	A link to a page that provides information about whether to keep or delete articles relating to the topic in question. Format this as a wikilink. Example [[WP:GS]]	Content	optional
Archive start date	archivedate	The date for which the archive for this deletion list begins at. Many archives begin at September 2007, but some begin later. Example September 2007	Unknown	optional
Category suffix	categorysuffix	If set, it will append the suffix to the name of the category to add the page to. The default category is "Category:Wikipedia deletion sorting", if this parameter is not set. Suggested values by country by U.S. state by Indian state Example by country	String	optional
