1939 City of San Francisco Derailment
edit- ... that a photographer responded to accusations of exaggerating the damage of the 1939 City of San Francisco Derailment with "God knows, it would have been impossible to make it look worse than it was?" Source: [1] Great Basin College
- ALT1:... that despite years of investigation and a manhunt the 1939 City of San Francisco Derailment remains unsolved? Source: virtually all of the sources used in the article back up this claim, arguably the most well known source in the article is the New York Times [2]

- Article is new, sourced, seems to be neutral and seems to be free of plagiarism. Hooks are both sourced in-line, but the original is a bit too long and isn't as interesting as ALT1. Image is okay, copyright-wise, and is good enough at thumbnail size. The caption could be trimmed a bit. QPQ has not yet been completed, as the nominator has at least 5 DYK credits from a while back, according to his talk page. SounderBruce 06:29, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review. I have tried to abbreviate both the original hook and caption without losing meaning. Dave (talk) 06:40, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
