2002 ICC Champions Trophy Final
edit- ... that India and Sri Lanka were the joint winners of 2002 ICC Champions Trophy?

- Article is new enough but barely crosses 1500 character limit. Can you expand it more? Also to make the hook interesting can you add the fact that the final was played twice? Some other facts which u can consider are: This was only instance in which ICC One day events had joint winners, or ICC top level event to have joint winners. --Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ 07:21, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry! The topic 2002 ICC Champions Trophy Final doesn't seem much notable and I doubt it would stand AfD if made to face. Why don't you merge the content to the article 2002 ICC Champions Trophy and try if it goes to 5x? §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 09:12, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
- @Dharmadhyaksha: thanks for the comment. I'd like The Rambling Man (talk · contribs), Harrias (talk · contribs), Vensatry (talk · contribs), Lugnuts (talk · contribs) and others to have an opinion here! Regards, --Khadar Khani (talk) 17:57, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
- Bit harsh to say it wouldn't survive an AfD - these tournament finals are very notable. Agree it's a bit short at the moment, I'll have a look at trying to expand it. Thanks for the ping. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 18:32, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you, Lugnuts! Khadar Khani (talk) 18:51, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
- In principle there's no reason that a "final" article shouldn't stand alone from the tournament. Claiming it would be deleted is somewhat an extrapolation of the truth. Expand it a little and there's no issue here whatsoever. I'm 100% certain the final itself received sufficient coverage to enable a standalone article to survive. - ALT1 – ... that the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy Final was played twice, and the trophy was shared by India and Sri Lanka?
- I agree with what The Rambling Man (talk · contribs) and Lugnuts (talk · contribs) have said. Although it is clearly not within the purview of this DYK, it would be worth re-looking at the merging of the 2006 and 2013 finals too. Harrias talk 19:51, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you, Harrias! --Khadar Khani (talk) 01:36, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
- ALT2 – ... that India and Sri Lanka were declared the joint winners of 2002 ICC Champions Trophy after the final was washed out twice?
- Prose is now long enough. I will check it again. I don't have any opinion on notability, but lot of editors are in favor of keeping it. I am suggesting ALT2 and will request someone else to review the hook. --Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ 04:35, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
- Just made a slight change to ALT2 (washed out, not down), although I support ALT1. Good work all round though - looks a nice article now. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 07:08, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
- Why were semifinals added to the article about final? To increase the prose and make it look notable? §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 05:53, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
- Dharmadhyaksha, this is not a relevant forum to discuss notability. If you really think that the topic isn't notable, then start an AfD and we will discuss it there. This page is to discuss the DYK, and the notability is not relevant to that. Harrias talk 07:25, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
- I had proposed merger and thereby 5x expansion of the main topic. If that isn't happening this then I will open a merger discussion. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 07:36, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
- Okay then please go ahead. This is not the right place. —Vensatry (ping) 16:10, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
- Uuuhhh!!! You are here! People, carry on. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 11:07, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

- Now as the issues with its notability are settled. I will finish the review.
- ALT1 – ... that the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy Final was played twice, and the trophy was shared by India and Sri Lanka?
- ALT2 – ... that India and Sri Lanka were declared the joint winners of 2002 ICC Champions Trophy after the final was washed out twice?
- Article is sufficiently long, it was sufficiently new at the time of nomination. No close paraphrasing. QPQ done. Hooked facts are cited. Both ALT1 and ALT2 are of sufficient length. I prefer ALT2 (proposed by me) over ALT1, but will leave the decision about this to the promoter. --Vigyanitalkਯੋਗਦਾਨ 01:17, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
