2021 Uzbek presidential election
- ... that the results of the 2021 Uzbek presidential election are expected to resemble those from 2016, widely considered to be illegitimate?
Source: ""Uzbekistan replaces one strongman with another", "Checking in on Uzbekistan’s Political Progress in 2020: An Interview With Farkhod Tolipov", "Mirziyaev Declared Winner Of Uzbekistan's Presidential Election"- ALT1:... that ...? - Article is new enough, long enough, the sources are properly attributed and the hook is written in an interesting manner as well as the article itself. QPQ done. Great job. :) --Sky Harbor (talk) 16:10, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote this, but I'm wondering what you mean by the results being the same? All the article mentions is that Mirziyoyev is likely to be reelected. Yoninah (talk) 19:47, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
- I'll defer to JPxG if he means something different, but when I read the hook I interpreted it as the results being the same as the last election in 2016, when Mirziyoyev was elected. He's very likely to be elected in the upcoming election as well. --Sky Harbor (talk) 21:41, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Sky Harbor: That's how I interpreted it. But is he the only one running in the election, or are there others? Yoninah (talk) 21:47, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
- I imagine there will be others, but they won't stand a chance against Mirziyoyev and the state apparatus that he'll employ to win the election, as is the case in most autocracies. --Sky Harbor (talk) 22:48, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
