  • I need to revise my hook as my hook fact was deleted by an editor from my article because I had already included the fact in my larger article Whitecross Street, Monmouth. The new hook, using the same photo, is:
ALT 1... that 33 Whitecross Street (pictured) also has the address 33 St James' Square?
Please note that the reference for the hook fact is ref #4. Thank you. Anne (talk) 15:46, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
  • I think both hook alternatives are rather dull. Also, a lot of the article is borderline original research. This sentence, for example, is not really supported by the source that is given: "The house has a view of the Indian Bean Tree which was planted on the square around 1900 and which is enclosed by railings." The same is true of the sentence that follows it. Citing google maps like that is also iffy in my view.--Carabinieri (talk) 13:40, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
  • Actually, I kind of liked the first hook. I had never heard of a plague cross before last week. We don't even have a formal Wikipedia article on it. Anyway, back to the matter at hand. I have rewritten the article to address your concerns. For a new, hopefully snazzier hook, using the same photo, I've got:
ALT 2 ... that a year after excavation of Neolithic and Roman artefacts at 33 Whitecross Street (pictured), archaeologists discovered Middle Stone Age human settlement in Monmouth?
Comment: Refs for this hook are #8, 9. Anne (talk) 04:41, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
