A. W. Piper
edit- ... that A. W. Piper (pictured) was elected to the Seattle City Council for 1877–78 on the socialist ticket?
- ALT1:... that socialist Seattle City Council member A. W. Piper was a baker who drew editorial cartoons, including one of a lynching (pictured) in 1882?

- Good to go! Excellent article about a very interesting subject. Hook is well cited, article is long enough and nominated timely, no copyvios. QPQ done with exemplary thoroughness. I prefer the original hook because it has a better picture, but will leave the choice to whoever promotes the nomination. --MelanieN (talk) 14:40, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
- The second hook also works with the first picture if we move (pictured) from lynching to A. W. Piper. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 00:18, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
