Alien Voices
edit- ... that Alien Voices was a project founded by Star Trek actors John de Lancie and Leonard Nimoy to record science fiction radio plays?

- New, long, neutral. Hook doesn't have an immediate ref in article (see 3b). Also: (1) Would you like to use an image with the DYK? Perhaps you can combine the two images into one composite image? (2) Is there a page on WP somewhere that discusses what Star Trek pages count as reliable sources? I imagine you would know, but it's my duty to check up. Some of the citation sources on this page look shady. czar · · 01:05, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
- You're right to check. I've added the immediate ref to the lead where it pretty much states the hook. Per the referencing, TrekWeb is one of the sites that I tend to use on the basis that it is one of only four fansites which is linked to by the official Star Trek website. However, in this case I used the TrekWeb reporting of an interview with Leonard Nimoy rather than the original source because I'm unfamilar with that Brazillian Star Trek fansite. Its probably fine, and given that it is an interview rather than an opinion piece it is probably fine to use too. But I'm just more comfortable with it being sourced to the TrekWeb reporting as I know I can rely on that one. But you're right, the project could do with defining reliable sourcing, not so much as to use it to pre-evidence the use (as in the argument - well the project said I could use it!) but because it'd make it easier for new editors to get into suitable sourcing for this particular subject matter). - True, so while I'm really hesitant to accept this site as an RS, the interview is reliable enough for the hook. I'd recommend coming up with consensus on RS at the Trekkie WikiProject to make this easier in the future. Also the fact that the two are actors should technically be cited as well, if you can do that when you have a chance. Also if you do want to add an image, remove my DYKtick and ping me.
