Anvar Artykov

edit
  • ... that Anvar Artykov was only one of three Uzbek politicians to be elected in the 2010 Kyrgyz parliamentary election, despite 14.5% of the Kyrgyz population at the time being ethnically Uzbek? [1]
    • ALT1:... that Kyrgyz politician Anvar Artykov spent less than a year representing the Ar-Namys in the Supreme Council of Kyrgystan before defecting to the majority coalition? Source: "You are strongly encouraged to quote the source text supporting each hook" (and [link] the source, or cite it briefly without using citation templates)
    • ALT2:... that Kyrgyz politician Anvar Artykov was elected the governor of Osh Region, only to be detained a day later?

  • This article is new enough and long enough. Going for ALT2, which is cited inline and more interesting than the other hooks to readers who know little about the politics of the country. The article is neutral and I detected no policy issues. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:29, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote this, but ALT2 sounds like a negative BLP, even though it isn't negative. Would you like to mention that he was detained by the president because he was a member of the opposition during the Tulip Revolution? Yoninah (talk) 21:29, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
How about ALT2a. I think it's an intriguing fact in what must have been turbulent times. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:38, 26 April 2018 (UTC)
  • ALT2a:... that Kyrgyz politician Anvar Artykov was elected the governor of Osh Region, only to be detained a day later by order of the president?
  • I'm not sure that I should approve it as I added the extra phrase, but I will do so anyway. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:36, 27 April 2018 (UTC)
  • @Cwmhiraeth: Thank you. But there is a problem: There's no inline cite for it being on the president's orders. Yoninah (talk) 15:03, 27 April 2018 (UTC)
@Yoninah: The English language source just states that he was detained by the police, who were presumably acting on behalf of the president, so I have amended the article and hook:
