Apple Venus Volume 1
edit- ... on XTC's 1999 album Apple Venus Volume 1, the band hired a 40-piece orchestra to get a sound akin to "Vaughan Williams with a hard-on"? Source: [1]

QPQ: - Not done
Overall: Just the QPQ left to be done and I can promote this.
- Further comments: Some of the quotes in the article are a bit too extensive. This isn't a DYK issue but these changes would improve the article. It's good for an article to have some quotes, but paraphrasing or rewriting is often better. The Independent quote in Production giving rise to the hook is particularly egregious, length-wise. To pick a random example:
- One of the album's working titles was A History of the Middle Ages, Partridge said, "which nobody liked, but that I thought was very truthful, because I am middle-aged and so is Colin and so is Dave Gregory."
- This could be rewritten as:
- A working title for the album was A History of the Middle Ages, as Gregory, Moulding and Partridge were middle-aged. Partridge believed the title to be "very truthful", but commented that none of the artists liked it.
