Aqueduct Racetrack (IND Rockaway Line)
edit- ... that you can go directly from Aqueduct Racetrack to Manhattan, but not back? (Source: NYC Subway Map. It is important to note that you can go from Manhattan to the Racetrack station, but not directly. It is mentioned in the article that there is only one platform for trains to Manhattan and Brooklyn, as per nytimes.com)
- ALT1A:... that for over a decade, one needed special New York City Subway tokens to go to the Aqueduct Racetrack? Source: numismatics.org (supporting the fact that special tokens were used between 1966 and 1980)

- I haven't forgotten about this. I will give myself time for QPQ shortly. epicgenius (talk) 03:06, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Northamerica1000: Conveniently, KAVEBEAR asked me to review one of his articles, so now I have a QPQ. epicgenius (talk) 21:35, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
- QPQ has been performed. Full review needed. North America1000 23:43, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
- This is a newly-promoted GA. It is long enough and was new enough when nominated. Approving ALT0 which is interesting and well-cited. The article is neutral and I detected no close paraphrasing or other policy issues. QPQ done. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:13, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Cwmhiraeth and Epicgenius: Are we sure about this wording? Shouldn't it say that one cannot go directly back? Vanamonde (talk) 09:40, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
- ALT1 ... that you can go directly from Aqueduct Racetrack to Manhattan, but not directly back?
- I agree that ALT1 is better. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:56, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Cwmhiraeth and Vanamonde93: There's another ALT1 above. I'll rename the original one to ALT1A. I like the new ALT1 better as well. epicgenius (talk) 15:32, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote this, but I'm having trouble finding the fact about not being able to return directly to Manhattan in the article. Could you point it out to me? It's also unclear why you're talking about going "to the Aqueduct Racetrack" when the article is about the Aqueduct Racetrack Station. Yoninah (talk) 00:04, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Sure. The article says
the station has only one platform, located on the northbound side, with one exit leading directly to Aqueduct Racetrack. Thus, it can only be served by northbound trains.
It doesn't mention Manhattan directly, but northbound in this case is the Manhattan-bound platform, as stated elsewhere:The new station was for northbound trains to Brooklyn and Manhattan, and it was built north of the existing Aqueduct station.
Also, it may also be a little confusing, but "Aqueduct Racetrack" is also the name of the station. When referring to the station specifically it is "Aqueduct Racetrack Station", but when it's implied that this is a station it's simply "Aqueduct Racetrack" per official subway map. I chose to say "Aqueduct Racetrack" instead of "Aqueduct Racetrack station" in the hook because that makes it more interesting, given that Aqueduct Racetrack is actually a notable destination in itself (independent of the subway station).[1] epicgenius (talk) 01:20, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Epicgenius: Yes, I saw all that, and I made that assumption that you're misleading readers a little by calling it "Aqueduct Racetrack". But I believe something needs to be said (and cited) about trains not returning directly to Manhattan, per WP:DYK#Eligibility criteria Cited hook 3b. Yoninah (talk) 01:33, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: OK, I've fixed it. How about this: epicgenius (talk) 04:53, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
- ALT2: ... that you can go directly from the Aqueduct Racetrack station to Manhattan, but not back?
- @Epicgenius: Thank you for clarifying that in the article. I believe the other editors want to emphasize "directly back", since you can probably go to Manhattan in a roundabout way. Is ALT1 okay with you? Yoninah (talk) 17:18, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Sure, that works. Thank you for your helpful feedback. epicgenius (talk) 19:48, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Sure. The article says
