Arnold Blackner
Arnold Blackner as the cowboy tenor
- ... that Arnold Blackner (pictured) was said to be the first person to sing over 3,000 miles (4,800 km) on the telephone? Source: "The tenor attracted considerable attention when he sang over long distance telephone from the Jonathan club in Los Angeles to the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. It is claimed that this was the first time a song was ever successfully carried a distance of 3,000 miles by telephone wire." 1931 article in The Greeley Daily Tribune
