Bedford Village Historic District

edit
Court House in Bedford, N.Y.
Court House in Bedford, N.Y.

5x expanded by Gerda Arendt (talk). Self-nominated at 20:56, 24 September 2018 (UTC).

  • This is a five-fold expansion and is new enough and long enough. The image is suitably licensed, the hook facts are cited inline, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright/close paraphrasing issues. A QPQ has been done. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:00, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
  • Gerda, it wasn't built as the oldest building, it is the oldest building. Yoninah (talk) 15:15, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
  • Sigh, some days I find English more difficult than others. How can we say it - because I think it's quite a record - without being clumsy? Otherwise:
ALT3: ... that a museum of the Bedford Village Historic District occupies the former Court House (pictured) of Westchester County, built in 1787? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:29, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
  • Thank you for improving, - how about dropping the year, awkward after the "pictured"? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:53, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
  • @Gerda Arendt: Why? The date tells you it's 231 years old. Otherwise, you could think it was a lot younger. Yoninah (talk) 21:06, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
  • Let's try something new. Frankly, the image of the school house looks much better at thumbnail size.

The School House
  • accepted - dealing often with music 300 years old, it's not soooo impressive ;) - btw, time for psalm 46?
  • edit conflict, - no, the white buildings are much more typical for the district than the one stone building. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:17, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
See white majority here [1], - thanks for trying, but I prefer ALT4, saying there are museums, - if ALT5a, it should probably be a court house and a school house, no? Will look at the ref. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:26, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
That ref was there before I began expanding, - I dropped it now. It was only supporting another. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:30, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
  • I'm sorry, I'm having trouble following you. I thought you "accepted" ALT5. Now you say you want ALT4. "Courthouse" is one word in English, but since it's written as two in the article, I'm leaving it that way. I'm leaving in the year and striking all the other hooks. Restoring tick for ALT4 per Cwmhiraeth's review. Yoninah (talk) 21:41, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
