- ALT1: ... that professor Bob Barney (pictured) is inducted into the halls of fame for both the New Mexico Lobos and the Western Mustangs? Western, New Mexico
- ALT2: ... that attending the 1984 Summer Olympics inspired Bob Barney (pictured) to establish an institution to research the Olympic Games? Source: https://baseballresearch.ca/directors/

- Comment: I volunteer two QPQ credits for one nomination, to help reduce the backlog of nominations without reviews.
Created by Flibirigit (talk). Self-nominated at 13:10, 4 September 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Bob Barney; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.
- Article: Created on September 1, 2023. More than long enough at 2,321 words. No issues detected regarding neutrality nor sources.
- Hook: Long enough, formatting checks. I found ALT2 to be the more interesting one (as I have no idea of Canadian baseball, and I consider that The Centre for Olympic Studies being the only one that is keeping such precise statistics is more than interesting). Yet, the original hook also checks with the sources used on the entry and may as well be interesting to other people.
- QPQ: Nominator reviewed two DYK hooks: one passed, the other one still under review.

- ALT3: ... that Bob Barney (pictured) consumed a three-pound roast then raced to a second-place finish in a 1,500 meters (1,600 yards) freestyle swimming event? source
I completed a large expansion today, adding another 29 citations. For the sake of transparency, it is probably a good idea to have the new additions checked for DYK policy. Courtesy ping to @GDuwen:. I have also proposed a new hook above. I have no further expansions planned. Flibirigit (talk) 21:07, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
- Hook and ALT1 still check, for ALT2, this source is now used on the article, that still checks. Though ALT3 checks with the provided source, and its used within the article, I'd personally reject it since the nomination was already closed at the point it was added. But I'll leave it to the criteria of whoever moves it to the prep area. I don't think we necessarily need to be that strict for a DYK.--GDuwenHoller! 18:34, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
