Chiu Hsien-chih
edit- ... that
Chiu Hsien-chih (pictured) organized a group of over three hundred lawyers to work with protestors participating in the Sunflower Student Movement?Source: "Chiu Hsien-chih (邱顯智), a lawyer, later showed up to announced [sic] that more than 300 lawyers have joined a team of lawyers to provide legal assistance to the protesters." (Loa Iok-sin, Taipei Times)- ALT1:... that a defendant represented by lawyer Chiu Hsien-chih (pictured) was executed on Chiu's birthday in 2014? Source: "Anti-death penalty activists yesterday criticized the government for the execution of five death-row inmates on Tuesday ... attorney, Chiu Hsien-chih (邱顯智), said that he was saddened to hear about the executions, especially since his birthday was Tuesday" (Loa Iok-sin, Taipei Times)

- Article is new enough, long enough, neutral, and well referenced. QPQ is done. No copyvio issues. Image is public domain. ALT1 is interesting and verified with supplied source. I'm fine with it but from my past experience with DYK, some readers may raise objection as it may be seen as sensationalizing an execution. ALT0 is also interesting but less so. It is however not fully supported by the source, which does not say he organized the group of 300 lawyers. -Zanhe (talk) 23:35, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
- ALT2 ... that Chiu Hsien-chih (pictured) was a spokesman for a group of over three hundred lawyers working with protestors participating in the Sunflower Student Movement?
- ALT3... that Hu Po-yen and Chiu Hsien-chih (pictured) were the first two legislative candidates supported by the newly established New Power Party? (
"Lim and Hung Tzu-yung’s decision to enter the race followed on the heels of human rights lawyers Hu Po-yen (胡博硯) and Chiu Hsien-chih (邱顯智)..." Lii, Taipei Times Lim’s announcement came shortly after two human rights lawyers from the NPP — Hu Po-yen (胡博硯) and Chiu Hsien-chih (邱顯智) — announced their bids to enter the legislative elections for New Taipei City’s Zhonghe District (中和) and Hsinchu City last week." Chen, Taipei Times"NPP announces its first election candidates", Taipei Times "Campaign season for next year’s legislative elections got an early start yesterday, as two human rights lawyers from the New Power Party (NPP) announced their bid to enter the race.")
- I agree ALT2 is a bit boring. I have trouble verifying ALT3 though, as neither source explicitly says Chiu and Hu were the first two candidates of NPP. Also, I don't think Hu needs to be mentioned here, as he does not have an article and the hook should focus on the highlighted article. Just say Chiu was one of the first two legislative candidates, provided a source could be found directly supporting that. -Zanhe (talk) 07:17, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
