Fine for length, recently created, no copyvios or other glaring issues. Moderately interesting hook (I prefer the first one to the alternative) and supported by the cited source. It's fractionally too long; I recommend dropping a couple of words ("estimated" and "individuals" aren't really necessary), but otherwise fine. Picture is hi-res, PD and rather good, I'd definitely be in favour of using it. No QPQ review - if this is one of your first forays into DYK please just make a note of that; otherwise this is good to go once the QPQ review is done.- Comment: I removed the recommended words, and this is my second DYK.
