Conte (literature)
- ... that conte, a literary genre that tends to be either fairy tales or philisophical stories, became merged with the short story in the 1800s?

Interesting distinction, on good sources, no copyvio obvious. I prefer the original hook, as a bit more informative about what this is. - In the article, I'd say "mostly French" from the beginning, instead of "also exist outside of France" at the very end.
