Domino Park

edit
  • Comment: This is a brand new park in New York City. All the features you see there are reclaimed materials (see references within the article), but obviously some things like the cement pavement and lawn were not scraped from the neighboring sugar factory. This is why I used the wording "predominantly", for the purposes of a hook. Please feel free to suggest better wording, if need be.

Any variation of the three suggested hooks is good by me. I prefer one of New York City's newest parks and abandoned factory (as opposed to Domino Park and Domino Sugar Refinery). Again please advise, many thanks!

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: No - The first hook does not match the Wikipedia article. It states "was built predominantly using industrial materials from an abandoned sugar factory", but the Wikipedia article itself says "It is also partially built using reclaimed materials from the old refinery." The second hook also says "much of", but again, the article says "partially built". The third hook has the same problem as the other two although the million amount is accurate.
  • Interesting: Yes
QPQ: None required.

Overall: The language being changed shouldn't be a problem at all-- make sure it matches up with the source itself and I'll check again. Great work here and matches all other criteria! Nomader (talk) 04:42, 13 June 2018 (UTC)

  • @Nomader: Yeah, it's a little confusing! The It is also partially built... is referring to the Playground. One paragraph up talks The crane tracks that were used in the original refinery now houses gardens..., and All wooden structures and chairs in the park were built using reclaimed wood from the refinery. Then from the lead, various salvaged factory equipment is displayed (the artwork, large syrup collection tanks, etc.). I guess I could include the references in this nomination, probably would have helped ;)

So the word "predominantly" I think is appropriate, but "much of" works too. What do you think? MusikAnimal talk 14:39, 13 June 2018 (UTC)

    • Sorry! I missed your response here! I would think that "much of" would be more accurate. Nomader (talk) 20:00, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
      • @Nomader: I prefer the original proposed hook, which I can't word nicely using "much of", so I just changed "predominantly" to "partially". Feel free to propose another wording. Thanks for your help! MusikAnimal talk 15:34, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
        • Thanks! For hook movers: the ***original hook*** is approved in this case, the ALTS are still not. Great work! Nomader (talk) 17:13, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
