Eight-ball jacket
- ... that at the height of their popularity, eight-ball jackets were such a status symbol in the East Coast hip hop scene that they were frequently stolen at gunpoint? Source: New York Times, 1990, NYT, 1991, NYT, 2014
- ALT1: ... that Seinfeld character David Puddy wore an eight-ball jacket in the episode "The Reverse Peephole" (1998) because the episode's writer was deliberately trying to make the jackets seem unfashionable? Source: NYT, 2014

- Comment: This is a couple days outside the usual seven-day nomination window because I was trying to get a photo of one - no luck, and I didn't realize I had gone past a week since mainspacing it. There's not a huge backlog of nominations, so hopefully it's okay if I squeeze this in. It's such a lovely oddity, I'd hate to miss out on it as a DYK.

- I'm going to IAR on the nomination being a bit late. The article is long enough and has no copyright violations. Both hooks are directly cited. A QPQ has been completed. The promoter can choose the hook. SL93 (talk) 01:38, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
