Crazy Bird, El Loco (Adventuredome), Eurofighter (Zoosafari Fasanolandia), Falcon (Duinrell), Huracan (Belantis), Rage (roller coaster), Timber Drop, Twist Coaster Robin, Typhoon (Bobbejaanland), Vild-Svinet
edit- ... that the roller coasters Crazy Bird, El Loco, Eurofighter, Falcon, Huracan, Rage (pictured), Timber Drop, Twist Coaster Robin, Typhoon, and Vild-Svinet all have (or were expected to have) steeper-than-vertical drops?

- Comment: There are a bunch of other nice images in the nominated articles. I'd be happy with any of them.

- Hook is long enough (with multiple nominations), interesting, accurate (for the ones I can confirm below) and neutral.
- Crazy Bird: New enough, having been moved from the mainspace. Long enough with 1,520 characters. Within policy, being neutral, citing sources with inline citations and containing no close paraphrasing (from what I can confirm; most of the sources are in Chinese).
- El Loco (Adventuredome): New enough, having been moved from the mainspace. Long enough with 1,570 characters. Within policy, being neutral, citing sources with inline citations and containing no close paraphrasing through spotchecking.
- Eurofighter (Zoosafari Fasanolandia): New enough, having been moved from the mainspace. Long enough with 1,778 characters. Within policy, being neutral, citing sources with inline citations and containing no close paraphrasing through spotchecking. The hook fact in this article is cited to an Italian source, but I can infer that it is correct.
- Falcon (Duinrell): New enough, having been moved from the mainspace. Long enough with 1,723 characters. Within policy, being neutral, citing sources with inline citations and containing no close paraphrasing (from what I can confirm; most of the sources are in Dutch).
- Huracan (Belantis): New enough, having been moved from the mainspace. Long enough with 1,548 characters. Within policy, being neutral, citing sources with inline citations and containing no close paraphrasing (from what I can confirm; most of the sources are in German).
- Rage (roller coaster): New enough, having been expanded fivefold within seven days. Long enough with 1,532 characters. Within policy, being neutral, citing sources with inline citations and containing no close paraphrasing. The reference to it having a steeper-than-vertical drop is not in the body (it's in the infobox, but it doesn't have an inline citation).
- Timber Drop: New enough, having been moved from the mainspace. Long enough with 2,076 characters. Within policy, being neutral, citing sources with inline citations and containing no close paraphrasing.
- Twist Coaster Robin: New enough, having been moved from the mainspace. Long enough with 1,597 characters. Within policy, being neutral, citing sources with inline citations and containing no close paraphrasing (from what I can confirm; most of the sources are in Japanese or I can't use dupdet).
- Typhoon (Bobbejaanland): New enough, having been moved from the mainspace. Long enough with 1,678 characters. Within policy, being neutral, citing sources with inline citations and containing no close paraphrasing (from the one English source I can confirm; most of the sources are in Dutch).
- Vild-Svinet: New enough, having been moved from the mainspace. Long enough with 1,650 characters. Within policy, being neutral, citing sources with inline citations and containing no close paraphrasing through spotchecking.
- QPQs are good. Image is okay but it illustrates the steepness the best so it should be fine.
I know a lot of people would frown upon these borderline-stub articles, but these are really nice and succinct. I believe the sheer amount of them wouldn't have people wanting more, so good work; just one issue and you're set. 23W 02:18, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks! I fixed the issues with Rage (roller coaster). It was a typo on my part. I meant to write steepest but I actually wrote height. IronGargoyle (talk) 02:48, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
I hope my esteemed fellow editors will tolerate my putting the breaks on for a minute in the interests of improving the reader's DYK experience. What attracted me to this hook is the notion of "steeper than vertical", yet when I click on three random bolded articles and search the word vertical I don't find anything helping me understand what that is. (I actually do know, but that's beside the point.) I think it's reasonable to expect that each article contain the phrase "steeper than vertical", either with an immediate explanation or a link to some other article that explains it. EEng (talk) 05:17, 26 August 2014 (UTC) I sure hope the reviewer gets 10 QPQ credits for this!
- Thanks for the comments! I've included links in each article to an explanation. IronGargoyle (talk) 10:58, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
